Port operations in Rendsburg

The Rendsburg District Port is an established transhipment hub on the Kiel Canal. From here, various cargo flows are organised and handled – in close coordination with shipping companies, shippers and logistics firms.

Bulk cargo handling

Handling of agricultural goods, building materials, energy sources and metals – organised both on board and onshore, and designed to ensure smooth onward transport.

Low-dust loading of sensitive bulk goods

For sensitive bulk goods, procedures are available that reduce emissions and take into account environmental and occupational health and safety requirements.

Storage and storage areas

Around 2,000 m² of storage space is available in the port area for handling and temporary storage – usable subject to availability and demand.

Shore power

Ships can be supplied with shore power whilst berthed. This allows on-board systems to be operated without running generators.

Supply & disposal

Supply and disposal services are available for ships whilst berthed, including fresh water connections in the port area.
